Who Knew Bananarama Was Coming To Town This Saturday?

Published by on October 9th, 2012

It’s not just gay bars that are shitty at promoting events…we just found out that the iconic 80′s girl group Bananarama is scheduled to perform at The Hard Rock Cafe on Pike Street this coming Saturday, October 13th.  Best known for their HUGE hit, “Venus”, the British band was arguably the first example of “Girl Power” long before “The Spice Girls” hit the scene in the 90′s.

The show at The Hard Rock is also a benefit for Breast Cancer:

Bananarama will perform in honor of PINK, while celebrating their 30th anniversary as the most successful female pop group in history. As the group turns 30, an age when breast cancer screening becomes increasingly critical, Bananarama is driving awareness to appeal to their fan base and beyond.

100% of ticket proceeds to benefit American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. The dollars raised through Making Strides events help the American Cancer Society create a world with less breast cancer and more birthdays through breast cancer research, free information and services for those fighting the disease, and access to mammograms for women who need them. For more information: www.makingastridesbellevue.org

We’re guessing the “PINK” reference is to Breast Cancer Awareness, and NOT to the current pop singer…and, this special tour is apparently ONLY happening at Hard Rock Cafe’s around the country and it’s being called the “PINKtober Tour”. We love it!
Doors are at 8pm/Show at 9pm with opening act, 80′s Invasion. Oh, and it’s 21+ with ID!!!
