Building on the success of their five-year run of sold-out Halloween presentations of VIVA OZ VEGAS, the theatrical tricksters at Can Can Presents bring you the third annual THIS IS HALLOWEEN – a spectacular smorgasbord of live music, cabaret, burlesque and film inspired by Tim Burton’s “Nightmare Before Christmas.”
Can Can’s A-Team is about to take Triple Door audiences on a ride unlike any other they’ve ever witnessed! Follow Jack Skellington, Sally, Oogie Boogie, Mayor, Lock, Shock, and Barrel, Santa Claus, and Zero to Halloween Town, where all the citizens have gathered to celebrate their holiday and success after terrifying the world.
However, Jack Skellington – the pumpkin king and most-acclaimed citizen of the town – has become tired of this holiday and no longer sees the point of scaring people. The night after the celebration he takes a long walk through the forest with his ghost dog, Zero, where he finds doorways to other holidays. Intrigued by one showing a bright green tree with decorations, Jack opens the door and falls down a hole leading into Christmas Town – and a world that will change Seattle and Halloween Town forever!!

For fans of electronic music – and the far-reaching wave of style and pop culture that followed in the wake of the 80s – Berlin vocalist Terri Nunn is an icon. As the charismatic vocalist for a band that virtually launched electronic dance rock in the U.S., Terri earned the No. 11 spot on VH1’s list of the “100 Greatest Women in Rock.” It might come as a surprise then to hear that Terri (who inspired legions of modern female rockers) was first inspired by male role models like Robert Plant and David Bowie. “The first artists that changed my brain about what I wanted to do were men,” Terri confesses. “On stage they were really loud, powerful, sexy and irreverent. The guys seemed to have a lotmore fun than any of the girls I saw.” But Terri’s perception shifted when she discovered the artistry of three very distinct women in rock: Grace Slick, Anne Wilson and Stevie Nicks. “Grace Slick was really like a guy on stage, and she showed me the role I wanted in a rock band,” Terri explains. “Anne Wilson also had an incredible vocal power and presence, because she was very influenced by Robert Plant. Stevie Nicks was femininity and mystery in the midst of the rock world, and I wanted that, too.”

You’d best call ahead or check out their Facebook page to see if she’s performing. But, don’t count on it…she’s busy jetting all over the country. (And, ignore their website which kinda implies that Jinkx is still around a lot. She’s not.)
Personally, Drag Impersonation/Show Girl Drag isn’t OUR particular cup of tea, and judging by the relatively small number of lgbtq folks who go to LeFaux on a regular basis, and the relatively LARGE number of straight, suburban types, including bridal shower parties who DO go, it’s not really a huge queer destination. If drag performers who look like and lip sync to famous iconic celebrities is your bag, then go for it. The show does have high production values and some gorgy costumes (see Eladio? We can be nice!) and some very talented performers. We just prefer our drag a bit grittier and funkier.
Some advice: the VIP seats are REALLY uncomfortable and have shitty sight lines. You’re better off in the cheaper seats. (We’re also honest…)

Every Sunday, the pulse of the city is filled with Latino flavor and rhythms at the most awaited event of the week: Latino Night at Neighbours Nightclub!
Our Latino Night started in 1991, when Latinos sought a welcoming space among their many entertainment options. They looked for a place where the music, language, and warmth of our lands would energize them for the week to come. At first, it was two hours with no more than 15 people dancing and speaking in Spanish. Many places had to try and fail to establish a Latino night before we found the one we have now. Latino Night at Neighbours! It gives Entre Hermanos the opportunity to share information on its programs and activities. From 10:00PM a 2:00AM, staff and volunteers from Entre Hermanos engage in community outreach and answer questions about sexuality, sexually transmitted diseases, HIV/AIDS, and social service organizations, as well as distribute condoms and lubricant along with a message of prevention and education.
